When do the responsibilities of an Executor start?

The responsibilities of Executors come into play after the death of the Testator (The person who created the Will.) In most cases, a court must approve the appointment of an Executor before they carry out the role.

We recommend having a conversation with the Testator who nominated you as Executor, and vice versa. While it may be difficult to raise this subject, having this conversation makes it easier to successfully carry out these responsibilities.
