Transferring assets is an important part of creating your Trust! The Trust document says what should happen to assets in the Trust, so this only applies to the assets that have been transferred to the Trust. This also means any assets that haven't been transferred to the Trust won't be managed by the Trustee.

Transferring assets to the Trust is what allows those assets to bypass probate, while most assets outside of the Trust will usually have to go through probate.

Most tangible assets can be transferred with a blanket transfer document. This covers most things without deeds or titles, for example: Clothing, furniture, jewelry, electronics, etc.

Assets with deeds or titles may require a more formalized transfer. We have a helpful guide in our Learn Center that walks you through the transfer process for each type of asset - Check it out here!
