Linking Your Bank Account with Plaid

What is Plaid, and Why is Trust & Will Using It?

Plaid is a secure third-party service that lets you easily connect your bank accounts to create an Estate Inventory of your financial accounts. Trust & Will uses Plaid to provide a seamless and secure experience when adding your bank account.

Is It Safe to Link My Bank Account with Plaid?

Yes. Security is our top priority. Plaid uses industry-leading encryption and security protocols to protect your financial information. Trust & Will does not store or have access to your bank login credentials. Plaid securely facilitates the connection between your bank and Trust & Will.

How Do I Link My Bank Account Using Plaid?

To link your bank account(s) via Plaid, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Estate Inventory in the left-hand sidebar.
  2. Click on +Add.
  3. Select to add an Account.
  4. Select Link with Plaid.
  5. Follow the secure prompts to log in to your bank account.
  6. Once verified, your account will be successfully linked.

What If My Bank Is Not Listed in Plaid?

If your bank doesn’t appear in Plaid’s search results, you will need to add your bank account details to your Estate Inventory manually. Just select “Add manually” when prompted, and enter your account details yourself. This gives you full flexibility to include any financial institution, even if it isn’t supported by Plaid.

Sometimes a bank may not be supported or may experience temporary connection issues. While this is outside of our control, you can always continue setting up your plan by adding your accounts manually. If you run into any trouble or would like help along the way, our team is here and happy to assist.

Can My Spouse Link Their Bank Account?

At this time, only the primary account holder can link a bank account to their Trust & Will profile. If you and your spouse share financial responsibilities, you can choose to link a joint bank account under the primary account holder’s login. Additional account linking for spouses is not currently available, but we are always working to expand functionality based on member feedback.

Can I Update or Remove My Linked Bank Account?

Yes. You can manage your linked bank accounts at any time. Simply go to your Estate Inventory in your Trust & Will profile to update or remove any linked accounts.
