To make adding real estate to your estate plan even easier, Trust & Will now offers the option to automatically pull a Zestimate® — Zillow’s estimated market value for your home.
This feature is completely optional and designed to enhance your experience, whether you're organizing your assets or simply keeping your estate plan up to date.
What is a Zestimate®?
A Zestimate® is Zillow’s automated valuation of your home, based on publicly available data and Zillow’s valuation model. It’s designed to give you a general sense of your property’s worth.
A few things to know:
- A Zestimate is not a formal appraisal.
- It’s provided “as is” through Zillow’s public data.
- Some addresses may not have a Zestimate available.
How It Works in Your Estate Plan
When you add a property in your Trust & Will account, you’ll be opted in automatically to use the Zillow integration.
If the Zestimate is available, you’ll see:
- The estimated value pulled in automatically
- A link to the home’s Zillow listing
- The date your value was last updated (Zestimate will refresh once every 24 hours)
Want to Enter Your Own Value Instead?
You’re always in control. If you prefer not to use the Zestimate, you can easily opt out:
- Open the property you added
- Uncheck the Zillow/Zestimate option
- Enter your own estimated value manually
This option is always available — and you can switch back at any time.
When a Zestimate Isn't Available
Sometimes Zillow can’t generate an estimate for a specific address. If that happens, you’ll see a message letting you know.
You can then:
- Edit the property
- Turn off the Zillow option
- Enter your own estimated value
Your estate plan remains fully functional either way.
A Few Helpful Notes
- This feature is available for real estate assets only.
- Your home value Zestimate does not impact the legality or validity of your estate plan.
- If the Zestimate looks inaccurate, changes must be made directly through Zillow (not through Trust & Will).
- International properties are not supported by Zillow’s valuation tool.
