Can My Spouse and I Have Separate Logins?

At this time, we support one email address per Trust & Will account.

For couples’ plans, this means you and your spouse will share a single login and password to access your Trust & Will account. While we understand that separate logins may feel more convenient, our current system is designed to securely house both spouses’ documents within one streamlined account.

Thus, everything you both need is clearly organized inside your shared account, making it easy to review, update, and finalize your documents together.

How Does It Work for Couples?

When you purchase a couple's plan, both spouses’ documents live inside the same account, whether it’s a Will-based plan or a Trust-based plan.

As you move through the questionnaire, some questions are asked jointly, others are asked individually for each spouse.

If you've completed all sections, then you have provided information for both of you. We always recommend reviewing your answers together to ensure each person’s wishes are fully and accurately reflected.

Editing Your Information

Making updates is simple:

  1. Log in to your account and select Estate Plan from the menu on the left-hand side.

  2. Click the Designation Summary tab at the top.

  3. In the Basics section, click Edit in the top right corner.

  4. Review each question and section summary carefully.

  5. Be sure to click “Looks Good” at the end of each preview. You can toggle between spouse previews by clicking on your names at the top to view your separate decisions.

This ensures both sets of documents are properly confirmed and finalized.

Viewing Your Documents

To view all completed documents for you and your spouse:

  1. Click Estate Plan from the left-hand sidebar.

  2. Select the Documents tab at the top.

You’ll see both spouses’ documents listed there, with each name clearly displayed in the right-hand column.

Why a Shared Account?

A shared login helps keep your estate plan streamlined and ensures both spouses’ documents stay aligned. Because many estate planning decisions are interconnected, housing everything in one secure account helps reduce confusion and keeps your plan cohesive from start to finish.

What About Two-Step Authentication?

If you choose to enable two-step authentication (2FA) for added security, please note that only one mobile phone number can be linked to each Trust & Will account.

Since couples share one login, verification codes will always be sent to the phone number on file. If one spouse is logging in, they’ll need access to that phone or the other spouse will need to share the code.

If coordinating login codes is not ideal, you may choose not to enroll in 2FA or disable it at any time in your account settings page.

Are There Options for Separate Accounts?

  • Will Plans: If you and your spouse prefer completely separate accounts, you may each purchase an individual Will plan under separate logins.

  • Trust Plans (Separate Property States): Married couples who live in a separate property state may also choose to purchase two separate Trust plans, each under its own account.

  • Trust Plans (Community Property States): Married couples who live in a community property state who choose a Trust plan are required to create a joint Trust, which must be completed within a single shared account.

If you’re unsure which option is right for you based on your state or personal preferences, our Member Support team is always happy to help answer general questions about how our plans work. For guidance specific to your situation or legal advice, you may want to consider adding our Attorney Support option for added peace of mind.
